It’s been 7 years since I published ‘Unresolved Journey’, my first collection, representing a stage of my existence where I was discovering my voice.
These poems were written during 2016-2018 as a development of my journey.
It’s been a process of revelation to me, departing from my ego to a sense of the world around me. I have been hugely lucky in working with a variety of writers in community workshops which I set up to enable others to enjoy a catharsis of their own. Poetry creates a language which helps us verbalise emotions and metamorphose.
I continue to grow and these poems are a gift. They are authentic journeys in their own episodes and experiences. They enable my ongoing journey of recovery.
This collection was whittled down to 151 poems and further edited. I have placed those that made the final cut in chronological order under each section and as such, the selections form one day of a week. As with life, so some days are fuller. The distance traversed evens out over time – Time and distance being the dimensions of our lives.
The artwork was created by me as part of this journey.
I hope this inspires you in some way to find your creative voice.

From There’s no Wi-If…
voice of a dolphin
there’s no
wi-if down here
air waves a plenty
swimming around freely
no material attachments
you up there
rushing around
endlessly going nowhere
we communicate through
non-verbal language
accept that we are all equal
no lesser or greater
than anyone else
you up there compete
to be heard
talk over each other
don’t listen to one another
trample on feelings
don’t sing each other’s praises
like we do under the surface
watching you watch us
